The invention relates to a new packaging for square or rectangular flat objects and more particularly for framed slides, the design of this packaging making it possible to envisage a fully automatic loading of said objects. The invention also relates to a device for packaging flat objects making use of such packaging.

Un boitier de livraison de diapositives classique, actuellement utilisé par les professionnels, comporte une ouverture étroite où les cadres de diapositives sont rangés verticalement, seul un côté du cadre restant visible et accessible. Le boitier et son couvercle sont en matière plastique rigide. Ce type de boitier impose pratiquement d'introduire manuellement les diapositives encadrées dans l'ouverture, alors que toutes les opérations précédentes, du développement à la mise sous cadre ont déjà été automatisées depuis plusieurs années. En outre, ce boîtier, relativement coûteux est surtout destiné à la livraison d'un jeu de diapositives correspondant à un film complet, par exemple, de 24 ou 36 poses. Or, on rencontre aussi le problème de la réexpédition d'un petit nombre de diapositives sélectionnées par le client pour des tirages sur papier.On ne dispose pas actuellement d'emballages adéquats pour réexpédier à la fois les tirages sur papier et les diapositives ayant servi à leur élaboration. Les diapositives sont généralement mal protégées dans l'enveloppe d'expédition et peuvent être endommagées. L'invention propose un emballage bien adapté pour résoudre tous ces problèmes. 3- Packaging according to claim 2, characterized in that said compartments are individualized with respect to each other in said tray by pairs of lateral dividers (16, 17) extending between the bottom (18) and the internal longitudinal sides (19) of said tray and facing two by two in directions perpendicular to said longitudinal direction.

4- Packaging according to claim 3, characterized in that the internal sides (19, 20) of said tray are inclined to give it a flared shape towards said opening, allowing stacking at the desired pitch.

5- Packaging according to claim 4, characterized in that the walls (22) of each separator which are connected to a longitudinal internal flank of said tray, are inclined towards each other in the direction of said opening.

6- Packaging according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises a flat rim (25) extending along at least the greater part of the perimeter of said tray, the aforementioned cover taking support or being fixed on this flat edge.

- a first conveyor (31) located partly under said magazine for moving each extracted tray to a loading location and then to a closing location, and:

- Means for introducing (35) a flexible plate forming a cover between the flat rim and said projections, comprising means for guiding said plate towards said tray and sets of rollers (54, 56), to drive such a plate along a tray rim.

10- Device according to claim 9, characterized in that it comprises a coil (38) of flexible strip material, means for driving the strip strip (36) along said lateral guides, in the direction of the path of said trays and means for sectioning said strip, controlled to individualize the aforementioned covers.

11- Device according to claim 10, characterized in that it comprises a second conveyor (33) located in the extension of said first conveyor and partly under the introduction means (35) above and in that the speed of the second conveyor is greater than that of said first conveyor.

12- Device according to claim 11, characterized in that the rollers (54, 56) of said introduction means are rotated in opposite direction to the movement of said trays.

13- Device according to one of claims 9 to 12, characterized in that it comprises identification and marking means (60) arranged in the vicinity of said introduction means.
