Abstract

INDIVIDUAL PACKAGING FOR THE TRANSPORT OF CHAINSAWS THE CHAIN GUIDE AND THE CHAIN BEING MOUNTED ON THE ENGINE.   The invention relates to a packaging for chainsaws. Currently the chainsaws are packed with the chain guide and the chain disassembled in order to be able to produce a compact and easily stackable packaging, in particular for shipping on

pallets or in containers.

  This results in the disadvantage that the mounting of the chain guide must be carried out by the dealer or even more and more frequently by the end user when the chainsaw is purchased in a

Supermarket.

  The invention therefore aims to provide a packaging for chainsaw allowing it to be presented with the chain guide fitted in the factory, while

  while remaining compact and allowing regular stacking.

  According to the invention, the package is a rectangular para-lelepipede of length equal to substantially half the overall length of the complete chainsaw. Said packaging being provided on at least one of its faces with means allowing the passage of the chain guides of two chainsaws

arranged head to tail.

  An individual packaging for chainsaw is thus obtained, allowing shipment in groups of two in a volume substantially equal to that occupied.

  According to a first alternative embodiment, one of the side faces of the packaging has two parallel slots of dimensions allowing passage

of a chain guide.

  According to a second alternative embodiment, one of the side faces of the packaging has a single slot for the passage of a chain guide, while the adjacent longitudinal face has an opening to allow the passage of the handle integral with the

engine block.

  In both cases, the chainsaws can be placed head to tail which saves

considerable storage space.

  According to the first embodiment shown in Figures 1 to 3, each chainsaw is individually wrapped in a container of rectangular parallelepiped shape 1 with a length 2, substantially equal to half the overall length 3 of the chainsaw, the guide chain 4 being mounted. One of the side faces 5 of the packaging has in the lower part two parallel slots 6 of sufficient size to allow the passage of the chain guide 4 with its guide guard not shown. Thus, the engine block and its handle are enclosed and locked by any appropriate means inside the package while the guide

  chain protrudes through one of the slots 6.

  Just present another packaged chainsaw head to tail, the two chain guides will pass respectively into the slot which remains free of

  their packaging and a regular parallelepipedal block is produced, of volume substantially equal to that of a single chainsaw and constituting

the packaging of two chainsaws.

  Preferably, one face 7 of a package has at the location of the handle a weakened or precut area 8 which is sufficient to knock down to grip the handle and transport individually

each chainsaw.

  According to the second alternative embodiment shown in Figures 3 and 4, the side face 5 of the package 1 has only one slot 6 for the passage of a chain guide 4, while one of the longitudinal faces adjacent 9 has a

  cutout 10 for the passage of the handle 11.

  In this exemplary embodiment, it is not necessary to provide a weakened or precut area to allow individual transport of the

chainsaw by its handle.

  In fact, the latter protruding from the packaging as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, is used both for maintaining a chain guide of another chainsaw presented head to tail for storage, and

  to the individual grip of a chainsaw.

Claims (5)

Claims   1. Individual packaging for transporting chainsaws, the chain guide and the chain being mounted on the engine, characterized in that the packaging (1) is a rectangular parallelepiped (1) of length (2) substantially equal to half the overall length (3) of the complete chainsaw and in that said packaging comprises at least on one of its faces (5, 9) means (6, 10 and 11) allowing the passage of the chain guides (4) of two chainsaws 0l arranged head to tail.   2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the means consist of two slots (6) parallel, formed on a side face (5) of the packaging (1), the dimensions of said slots allowing the passage of a guide chainsaw chain (4).   3. Packaging according to claim 2, characterized in that it comprises on one of its faces (7) a weakened or precut area (8) allowing   access to the chainsaw handle.   4. Packaging according to claim 1,   characterized in that it comprises on a lateral face.   (5) a single slot (6) for the passage of the chain guide (4), while a longitudinal face (9) adjacent to said side face (5) has an opening (10) for the passage of the handle ( 11) of the chainsaw.
