Abstract

The drive unit for agricultural tractors consists of an engine (1), a torque converter with a first and second adapting stage, a gear unit (4) with a clutch (3) and a cluster gear box (6). The clutch unit (3) is fitted between the torque converter (2) and the rotating gear (4), which is provided with a forward stage (4a) and a reverse stage (4b) which are alternately selectable and in the direction of the first adapter stage is geared so that the output speed of the rotating gear (4) at a nominal speed of the engine (1) is equal to the nominal speed of the torque converter.
