Abstract

Soft contact lens defining a fixed "iris" correcting short-sighted vision and long-sighted vision. This device consists of a non-transparent translucent lens provided with a single orifice at the location of the pupil or at a distance of from a half to one millimetre along its axis for short sight and with two orifices separated by twice the distance constituted between the external edge of the tube and the first orifice for long sight. The orifice of the internal concave portion of the lens is at the location of the pupil or at a distance of a half to one millimetre along its axis. These devices, according to the invention correct short sight and long sight.

Description

The present invention relates to the correction of sight for myopics and hyperopia with a fixed "iris".

The invention consists of an artificial iris affixed to the eye like a soft contact lens. This lens designed according to the method of the Japanese patent "Nippon Oil and
Fats Company (2 523 896 AI) or that of Nuchman B. and whang S. (2 544 87 8 AI) has no corrective effect in itself, but by the action of an orifice (Figure I ) acting on the light beam which brings the image to the retina.

The lens is translucent but not transparent; the orifice which can vary from the tenth of a millimeter to several millimeters depending on the type of myopia (if it is associated with hyperopia) is circular, placed at the location of the pupil or at half or one millimeter in its axis (Fig. 2)
In the case of hyperopia, the invention consists of a flexible contact lens, translucent but not transparent, provided with two correcting orifices, of identical diameter in a tube with a diameter larger than the orifices. The distance between the outer edge of the tube and the first port is doubled between the first port and the second.

le diamétre de l'orifice circulaire peut varier du dixiéme de millimétre à plusieurs millimétres selon le cas en présence.the diameter of the circular orifice can vary from tenths of a millimeter to several millimeters depending on the case involved.

à une distance de un demi ou un milli métre dans son axe ( Fig. 3e ). the structural details are described in Figure 3, and consists of a tube (Fig 3a), two orifices (Fig 3b, 3c) the orifice of the concave part is arranged at the location of the pupil (Fig . 3d) or. at a distance of a half or a millimeter in its axis (Fig. 3e).

This invention allows the retina to work and have a positive action on the performance of the eye. the only requirements of the prosthesis are to be translucent and without risk of intolerance for the tissues of the eye. Its manufacture is less complex and less expensive than traditional prostheses.

The same lens can be worn with the external convex part, relative to the eye, completely opacified with a dye (Fig. 4).
