Abstract

The invention relates to an electrical storage heating radiator supplied at low voltage less than 50 volts. It comprises a heat store made in refractory material 1 heated by an electrical resistance 2 surrounded by a lagging jacket 3 inside a housing 4 from which the heat is removed by ventilation channels 5 either by natural convection, or forced convection by the fan. It is characterised in that the pure electrical heating resistance and the possible fan are provided so as to be supplied by an electrical voltage of 6, 12, 24 or 48 volts. They can be connected to one or more batteries or to the mains by means of an electrical transformer with an appropriate low-voltage secondary. This radiator can be used to maintain the temperature and to heat the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, for a prolonged time, its engine being stopped, or in any other site where an electrical safety voltage less than 50 volts is required.
