Abstract

The invention relates to a skiing accessory, located in front of the boot 9, enabling skiers to climb in all types of snow without having to fix a seal skin under their skis or having to climb in herringbone fashion or by means of side-stepping. It comprises a strip 1 carrying four articulated crampons 2 which hook into the snow. The assembly is held in tension by a spring. Front and rear stops 6 and 7 immobilise the strip either in order to retract the crampons or to place them in a stationary position. The invention enables skiers to go ski-hiking, combining the advantage of cross-country skiing for climbing and that of Alpine ski-ing for the descent.

Description

The present invention relates to a ski accessory, type
crampons n allowing the practice of ski touring and replacing the seal skins usually used for this kind of sport. The characteristic of the invention is that the studs are articulated and retractable. Thus the skier can successively climb a slope by clinging to slide then without having to do anything, L9inventlon avoids the tedious climbing in "duck" or staircase.

The invention comprises a plate (1) on which slides a strip (2). The movement of having in career and vice versa drives four crampons (3) fixed to the plate by four tunnels (4). A spring (5) fixed under the ruler permanently returned - this last backwards and keeps the crampons in the ascent position, However, in this position, the skier can then slide forward, the pressure of the snow snow causing the crampons to retract . A rear stop (6) blocks the re; D- slide forward and immobilizes the crampons in the retracted position, thus allowing normal skiing. A front stop (7) locks the slider at the rear and fixes the crampons in the ascent position. This rigid arrangement allows ski touring in hard snow. Even this position allows to fix under the sole of the ski two plates (8) staging in the crampons. This provision authorizes climbing in deep snow, taking into account the greater range on snow. The invention is fixed to the front of the ski just in front of the binding0
The device object of the invention can be used to practice any form of skiing, particularly the
ski touring and combines the advantages of cross-country skiing for ascents and alpine skiing for descents. This device is easily attached to the ski, does not present any dangerous roughness in the event of a fall, quickly moves into the up or down position with a stick tip pressure on the front or career stop. Finally, it avoids the use of seal skins which must always be carried in the backpack, which are difficult to adjust and which do not hold up well, especially on slopes or crossings.

The four studs with or without plates are effective in hard snow, transformed snow or even in deep snow
This device should be of interest to ski enthusiasts who do not want to be subject to mechanical ascent and to ski freely.
