Abstract

Manipulator for flat pieces such as pallets or trays 2 intended to unstack stacks 1 of flat pieces and place the latter successively at predetermined locations 3, characterised in that it comprises a portal 5, equipped at its upper part with rails 9 on which a carriage 11, equipped with means for driving along the rails as well as rotary drums 13, about which cables 14, for suspending a head 15 for gripping a flat piece 2 on the top of a stack 1, are rolled up, is able to move in translation. This manipulator virtually completely clears the location of the ground around the stack, offers great operational reliability, and, to a large extent, eliminates the risk of the simultaneous removal of two pallets nailed to one another.
