Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif dans lequel un expéditeur peut envoyer de grandes quantités ou lots de courrier. L'expéditeur 16 possède une unité de comptabilisation de sécurité, semblable à un appareil d'affranchissement, dans lequel une valeur d'affranchissement est placée par un poste central 14 qui communique également avec un centre de recharge à distance pour tenir compte des fonds transférés à l'unité de comptabilisation. Le poste central communique avec le poste d'expédition de manière à obtenir des données relatives au traitement du courrier toutes les fois que des fonds doivent être transférés à l'unité de comptabilisation. Le poste central peut également servir pour verrouiller ou déverrouiller le traitement du courrier au poste d'expédition.
