Abstract

Apparatus allowing the treatment of human excrement by composting. The invention relates to an assembly of devices facilitating the discharge of the formed compost, which are based on the separation of the faeces and urine and the evaporation of the latter. It consists of containers 6 pierced with holes, so as to retain the faeces and allow the urine to pass through. The latter is brought by gravity to a ventilated solar evaporator consisting of a tank 10 capped by a transparent screen 11 facing south. In order to improve the ventilation of the tank and of the containers receiving the faeces, a ventilation duct 14 is added to this device, which duct can be equipped with an electric fan 15.
