Abstract

The invention relates to an arrangement for supplying labels 3, 4, 5 on a support strip 1 so that the transfer towards a bottle 7 takes place simultaneously. The relative location of the labels 3, 4, 5 on the strip is the same as that which they must have on the bottle 7. The system according to the invention, although related to the production of several labels for one and the same object, is intended particularly for labelling bottles.

Description

 The present invention relates to self-adhesive or adhesive labels which must be placed at the same time and in a single operation on the same object.

 In general, these labels, of variable dimensions or shapes printed on the front side, include on the back side a layer of natural adhesive product.

This product allows the labels to be properly maintained on a special strip of paper, but with easy recovery for their permanent bonding on the objects to be labeled. The strip of special paper, with the labels attached to it1 having a spacing of a few millimeters between them, is generally presented in a roll. After recovering the label, the special paper tape, which was only an accessory, is no longer useful.

 Objects to be labeled which require a single label are treated with the system recalled above, but it happens that the same object has the utility of two, or three, or more labels. Until now, these labels were joined together, which led to placing only one label, or else they were placed one after the other.

 These methods have drawbacks, since the production of a single label uniting all the others was not possible, and the successive installation of all the necessary labels on the same object requires as much 'due installation material as labels to be placed, with an intermediate location of the object.

 The system according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks.

In fact, all of the labels intended for one face of the same object are all placed on the support paper strip, with the same spacings as they will have on the object to be labeled, and the transfer will be made in only once.

 The manufacture of the labels according to the invention is simple. I1 is used from two strips of paper, one for the creation of labels, the other in special paper, the first fixed to the second by the adhesive product. In a step-by-step transfer, the label is printed, then a cookie cutter cuts the label to its size, stopping at the strip of backing paper. The part of the cut strip, located between the labels, is removed from the support strip to allow only the labels to remain. In the context of the present invention, at each step, two, or three, or more labels will remain.

 According to a preferred embodiment, the labeling of bottles with three labels seems to be an interesting application of the invention, without however remaining limited to only bottles, it covers any labeling using several labels placed at the same time , so together on the same object, in variable shapes and dimensions.

 According to a variant, three labels will be retained to be placed on a bottle.

 FIG. 1 represents the arrangement of the labels on the support strip according to the invention.

 The system according to FIG. 1 comprises a strip (1) of support paper on which the labels remain fixed after cutting. In the manufacturing variant for labeling the bottles, there remains on the support strip a label (3) 12 centimeters wide by 2.5 centimeters high, generally called "pass" - a label (4) 12 centimeters wide by 9 centimeters high called "body tag" - a shaped label (5) inscribed in a rectangle 9 centimeters wide by 4 centimeters high, called "collar". Between the successive body labels on the strip, there is a gap (6) of 2 to 3 millimeters. The labels are hatched on the drawing.

 Figure 2 shows the labels (3) (4) (5) and the backing paper constituting the roll (2). For labeling the bottle (7) the strip (1) and the labels (3) (4) (5) from the roller (2) slide along a plate (8) in the direction of the arrow ( 9) and separate at the end (10) of the plate of the same height as the strip (1). The labels (3) (4) (5) will be fixed at the same time and in the same transfer by their adhesive face on the bottle (7).

The strip (1) which is pulled to advance the labels has become waste.

 The production and arrangement of these labels on the same support strip according to the invention makes it possible to apply with the same regularity and at the same time several labels on the same object, and in particular on bottles or flasks.
