Abstract

The invention relates to a piece of furniture which makes available without any risk a substantial low cost storage space, while making it possible to sleep in comfort. It consists of a generally light mattress 1, made of high quality foam, of a thin underframe 4, of a chest 15 and of various devices for opening the bed-chest at will on one side or on the other side. One of these devices opens the bed-chest and keeps it open, which eliminates any danger of untimely closure of the bed-chest on the user.
