Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a device which allows a submerged diver with a diving suit, to ascend at a determined and constant speed, this in order to avoid pathogenic consequences.
The traditional means of obtaining this speed consist for the diver on the one hand of looking at his watch and on the other hand of his deep meter. There are also dive computers on which an optical indicator indicates a speed too low or too high. If one of these means is impractical, the other is very expensive and both have the disadvantage of asking for sustained attention and monopolizing the vision almost exclusively to this task.
The device according to the invention consists of a cylinder (fig.I) about twelve centimeters long and four in diameter. A.
Inside, cane side, is attached a ballast. The flat part forming a closing patch. The center of gravity being distant from the geometric center, the device takes in 1 water, a vertical position, cone down; (This c8ne is intended to prevent air bubbles coming from below to be fixed.)
The device, which may be made of aluminum or of injected plastic, has an apparent density lower than the liquid in which
it turns out that. It is incompressible and non-deformable within the limits of current use. At the Archimedes push, which is therefore constant and which pushes the device towards the surface, the forces of hydrodymamic resistances are opposed which, equilibrating with the first, give to the mobile a constant speed whatever the depth. (This speed being all the greater the lower the apparent density of the device relative to the liquid and the lower the higher the density.)
According to a preferred embodiment (fig.2) the balancing mass is movable (5) on an axis (4) and allows by alternative translation, along the longitudinal axis, to use the device as an acoustic warning device. Outside on the cylindrical part is printed a diving table.
According to a variant, the closing pad (fig. 3.4.5) is formed by two circular sectors of 90 degrees of opening on which a washer of the same shape rotates on a common axis and allows by its rotation to modify the surface of the marten torque and thereafter the ascent rate of the device.
According to FIG. Six, the density sought is obtained directly by the own mass of the material.
According to another variant, an auxiliary, removable ballast, fixed to the outside, makes it possible, depending on whether it is in place or not, to obtain two speeds.
According to one embodiment, the external ballast is constituted by a knife blade.
According to another form, the device is spherical and consists of two half-shells glued or screwed. The front section of the sphere
being identical on all sides, the center of gravity and the geometrical center
trique can beings confused I1 results that the device can be only a simple solid sphere whose required density is obtained by
the material itself: micro-spheres embedded in a hard plastic where
rigid foam material.
