Abstract

The adjuster for the resilience of the guard plates of the wheel axles of a railway vehicle has a bar (12) fixed to the wagon chassis (1). The bar is spaced from the mounting point of the respective plate (2,3) on the chassis. The plate is free to flex a distance which separates the bar and the plate itself to a non-flexing free section which engages against the bar. The bar can be mounted on a stirrup (11) fixed to the chassis. The guard plate can be formed of two separate plates.
