Abstract

The invention relates to a safety-belt buckle whose locking element or latch 5 is connected by tongues 53 to a closure flap 51 obtained by folding and cutting-out of a single metal plate so as to form a slot 52. The rays of light emitted by a light source 60 fastened by a support 61 to the casing 11 pass through the slot 52 in order to illuminate the opening of an introduction entry 39 of the buckle, when the locking element is in the so-called unlocking position. In this position, the closure flap 51 prevents the rays of light from striking the translucent front face of the pushbutton 10. In the so-called locking position, the latch being in the low position, the closure flap prevents the rays of light originating from the source 60 from illuminating the introduction entry and allows the rays to pass in order to light up the front face of the pushbutton 10.
