Abstract

The invention relates to a device and a method for loft conversion for lofts not originally designed for this purpose. The device consists of prefabricated trapezium-shaped reinforcing dormer-window trusses whose corners are cut in the region of the external wall of the walling, which trusses are fixed against the existing trusses by means of a bolting operation. The method consists in partially opening up the framework, in inserting the dormer-window trusses, in resting them on the walling 30 and 31, in carrying out the bolting operation and then in removing the portions of the inner members of the old trusses located inside the space to be converted. Applications: loft conversion of bungalows or houses.
