Abstract

The invention relates to an isothermal apparatus for household use consisting of an insulating casing comprising a housing intended for receiving a container, characterised in that it comprises an auxiliary device, intended to be substituted for the container, consisting of two superposed baskets 8, mounted on three legs 10, allowing the improved preservation of bread, of pastries, of foodstuffs such as butter, (wrapped) cheeses; and the maturing of fruits or the manufacture of yoghurts. The apparatus is also characterised in that there is provided a heat reserve 11, intended to be placed in the lower basket, receiving hot water at the desired temperature, or ice by means of an orifice and a screw plug 12. Moreover, the apparatus is characterised in that the inner mould 3 is made of moulded polyester plastic material, which comprises notches 14 for receiving the handles of the container, and in that the insulating material is made of glass fibre or of expanded polystyrene 13. This apparatus may be built into a wooden piece of furniture, which may be carved or otherwise, and has a front opening door, giving access to a closure system of the lid; the piece of furniture being provided with a lower drawer and removable castors.
