Abstract
Description
SONDE POUR DISPOS TTIF DE PRELEVEMENT D'UN ECHANTILLON DANS
UNE MASSE DE GRAINS.PROBE FOR DEVICE FOR TAKING A SAMPLE FROM
A MASS OF GRAINS.
The present invention relates to devices for taking a sample of grains from a bulk grain mass. It relates more particularly to pre-washing devices of this kind comprising a probe c comprising a tubular body provided with lights or openings and lice means for closing these lights at will, this probe being carried by a support and connected to means of aspiration.
To use these devices, the probe is introduced into a mass of @jrains, contained for example in a bucket, the lights or openings being closed. When the probe is in place, the lights or openings are cleared so that the grains enter the probe and fill it by gravity. When the probe is practically full, the lights are closed and the suction means are activated so that the grains are evacuated from the probe and transported to a collecting container.
In particular, probes are known whose lights or openings can be closed by a drawer or shutter which is axially movable and also includes lights or openings having the same relative spacing as the lights or openings of the probe. These latter lights are thus opened or closed depending on whether or not the lights of the drawer are opposite the lights of the probe.
In the probes of this type currently produced, the lights of the probe body and those of the drawer have the same dimensions so that, when the drawer is moved, the lights of the probe body are released simultaneously and all of the same area. This is a drawback. Indeed, the grains which penetrate by the upper openings fall in the lower part of the probe and hinder the entry of the grains by the inferinous materials. The sample obtained is not representative of the grains contained in the hopper, the zones superior to that ei being favored to the detriment of its lower sones.
The present invention relates to a probe for a device for taking a sample from a mass of grains, which overcomes this drawback.
The probe according to the invention is characterized in that the openings or openings in its tubular body and the openings or openings in the drawer have lengths such that the openings or openings in the body of the probe are successively released from the lower light in the upper light, during the movement of the drawer. The grains which are at the level of the lower part of the p @ avent probe thus penetrate there freely before this lower part is filled with the grains which are at the level of the part upper of said probe.
The lights or openings of the drawer can all have the same length while the lengths of the lights or openings of the body of the probe decrease from the lower light to the upper light. Conversely, the openings or openings in the body of the probe may all have the same length, the openings or openings in the drawer having lengths which decrease from the lower light to the upper light.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the lower edges of the openings or openings of the body of the probe and of those of the drawer are rounded. This prevents the grains stay on these edges and are broken by closing the drawer, which would distort the result of the measurements.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the tip of the body of the probe is hollow and has on one of its lateral faces an opening closed by the drawer when the latter occupies its closed position. driving the probe until its bottom touches the bottom of the bucket, take grains located in the vicinity of this bottom.
La Figure 1 est une vue en élévation d'un dispositif de prélèvement de grains comportant la sonde;
La Figure 2 est une vue en élévation de la sonde;
La Figure 3 en est une coupe longitudinale suivant III-III de la Figure 2;
La Figure 4 en est une coupe transversale suivant IV-IV- de la Figure 3;
An embodiment of the probe according to the invention has been described below, by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the appended drawings in which
Figure 1 is an elevational view of a grain sampling device comprising the probe;
Figure 2 is an elevational view of the probe;
Figure 3 is a longitudinal section along III-III of Figure 2;
Figure 4 is a cross section along IV-IV- of Figure 3;
Figures 5 and 6 are views similar to Figure 2 and show the probe respectively partially open and fully open.
As shown in FIG. 1, the grain sampling device comprises a vertical tubular probe, which is generally designated in the drawing by the reference 1 and is fixed to a support 2. This is connected to a mast 3 by two arms 4 and 5 constituting an articulated parallelogram. A jack 6 connecting this mast to arm 5 makes it possible to deform the parallelogram, therefore to move the probe 1 along a substantially vertical trajectory. The probe 1 is connected by a flexible conduit 7 to a grain receptacle, not shown, the assembly being placed under vacuum by a turbine also not shown.
As can be seen more particularly in FIGS. 2 to 4, the probe 1 comprises a tubular body 8 which is divided by a central partition 9 into a chamber 10 closed at its upper end, and into a chamber which is itself divided by two partitions 11a and 11b in three chambers 12a, 12b and 12c. The middle partition 9 and the partitions 11a and 11b stop at a certain distance from the lower part of the tube 8, the partition 9 extending slightly further than the partitions 11a and 11b, the lower part of the chamber 10 thus communicating with the lower part of the chambers 12a, 12b and 12c. The middle chamber 12b is connected to the duct 7, while the lateral chambers 12a and 12c open into the atmosphere. The tube 8 has a section which is here rectangular and constant over its entire length, except at its lower end 8a where two opposite side walls converge towards each other, constituting a point.
The face which closes the chamber 10 of the tube 8, carries at its edges two angles 13 which form slides for a drawer or sliding register 14 whose lower end 14a is triangular. This face is provided with lights 15, the lower and upper edges of which are rounded, the vertices of which are spaced apart from one another by the same distance, but the heights of which increase from the top of the probe to the bottom; the face of the part 8a of the tube 8, of narrowed section, is open, as indicated in 15a.
On its side, the sliding drawer 14 is provided with lights 16, with rounded lower and upper edges, which have the same relative spacing as the lights 15 and whose dimensions are those of the lightest light 15, that is to say - say upper light 15. In the lower position of the drawer, the lights 16 are located below the lights 15 which are thus covered and the lower part 14a of the drawer closes the open front face 15a of the narrowed part of the tube. 14a does not abut against the edges of the opening 15a, but covers these edges.
At its upper part, the flap 14 is coupled to the piston rod 17 of a hydraulic cylinder 18 fixed to the tube 8. The reference 19 designates limit switch contacts.
In Figures 2 and 3, the probe is closed. When, by maneuvering the jack 6, it has been introduced into the granular material of which it is desired to take a sample and which is, for example, contained in a bucket, the jack 18 is actuated so that the drawer 14 gradually moves towards the high.
Due to the differences in length of the lights 15, these are not discovered simultaneously. They open successively from the lower lumen 15 to the upper lumen 15, the opening 15a of the base of the tube 8 opening at the same time as the lower lumen 15. Thus, in the intermediate position of the drawer 14. shown in Figure 5, the lower light 15 is released over a height substantially equal to half that of the corresponding light 16, while the light 15 located substantially at mid-height of the probe is released only over a significantly lower height and that the upper lumen 15 is still closed.
When the drawer 14 reaches its high position shown in FIG. 6, all the openings 15 are released over a height equal to that of the openings 16.
Consequently, when the slide 14 is moved, the grains which are in the bottom of the bucket and in its lower part can penetrate the probe without being obstructed by the grains entering this probe through the slots 15 located at the top of said probe. These last lights do not open, to leave a passage for the grains, when the probe already contains grains coming from the bottom and the lower part of the bucket. The sample formed by the grains which have entered the probe is thus perfectly representative of the grains of the bucket.
When the probe is full, the drawer 14 is lowered using the jack 18 so as to close the lights 15 and the opening 15a. This operation does not cause any breakage of grains due to the rounded shape of the lower edges of the slots 15 and 16, and due to the overlap by the end 14a of the drawer of the edges of the opening 15a.
When the probe is closed, the suction means are put into action. The grains which are in the probe are sucked into the chamber 12b at the same time as air which enters the probe through the chambers 12a and 12c and which fluidize the grains. The fluidized grains are evacuated via line 7 and transported to the grain receptacle in which the air is evacuated, for example by passing through a screen which retains the grains.
It goes without saying that the present invention should not be considered as being limited to the embodiment described and shown, but on the contrary covers all variants thereof.
