Abstract

1. Tube for winding a sail, particularly for a jib winder, made of at least one metal section (8) intended to be mounted rotatably about the stay cable (2), the metal section (8) having an outer profile (11) of circular cross-section defining the winding surface of the tube, characterized in that the metal section has an inner profile (12) in the form of an open figure eight produced integrally with the outer profile, the outer and inner profiles being connected to one another in the region of a common longitudinal slot (13), the inner profile (12) forming a receptable for a plastic sheath (19) likewise of a cross-section in the form of a figure eight, which, after being engaged in the inner profile (12) and being pinched, defines a first compartment for receiving the stay cable (2) and a second compartment forming a boltrope groove and opening into the said slot (13) common to the outer and inner profiles.
