Abstract

Display case for coffee cups or teacups, apéritif glasses, etc., of cylindrical shape, enabling the said glasses or cups to be dispensed via windows made in the carrying cylinder, by means of a single control. The end use of the device will advantageously be the replacement of a generally cumbersome serving tray. In addition to being decorative, the display case is cleverly supplemented with a serving tray for spoons, sugar, or the like. Application particularly to table settings, gifts etc.

Description

In the tableware industry, there are a large number of devices for serving sets generally comprising from four to twelve cups or glasses, of identical sizes, often accompanied by sugar bowl, casserole dish or other receptacles intended to contain ingredients commonly present during 'aperitifs for example. These devices are very usually known in the form of a tray and therefore have the drawbacks of a horizontal arrangement thus bulky a generally limited space on tables or pedestal tables. Furthermore, it is never satisfactory for a mistress of the house to leave in place, cups or glasses after use, which generally results in having not only to group together but to remove said cups or glasses to declutter tables or pedestal tables.

The object of the present invention is to remedy these various drawbacks by proposing an original arrangement for the vertical presentation of a glass or cup service in a configuration which makes it possible, moreover, to present a sugar bowl or bowls without loss of additional space.

The proposed invention is presented as a cylinder strength receptacle which can be decorated on the outside and the inside of which is arranged to receive small boxes stacked according to the height of the cylinder and in sufficient number to arrange the cups or glasses of the service. Each lodge, in combination with an appropriate mechanism and thanks to a unique control placed from the outside can rotate along an axis parallel to that of the cylinder arranged so that the lodge and its contents (cup or glass) can exit and return from said cylinders by windows specially fitted for this purpose. Thus, in a single manipulation, all the cups or glasses previously enclosed in the boxes are available to each user. The display case thus described is also advantageously supplemented by a serving tray intended to receive all the ingredients such as sugar, aperitif cakes, etc. in so far as it comes over the top of the carrying cylinder and can further include internal provisions, such partitions, related to the destination of the entire display.

Finally, the service tray can advantageously be provided with a cover which guarantees the content of said tray while providing good harmony to the closed assembly.

It follows naturally from this description of the invention an additional advantage of the device to be able to clear cups or glasses after consumption by enclosing them in their housing by reversing the single control. Two carrying handles fixed on the top of the cylinder will finally give the box-display-tray set all ease of handling.

I and II in which FIG. 1 represents an overall perspective view of the display case in the open position surmounted by a tray with three compartments capped with its protective cover. Figure 2 is a longitudinal section along the axis of the cylinder (3) having in the extended position a single housing (1) and its drive mechanism (4 to 14) controlled by the single control pusher (16).

In the version of the invention presented in Figure 2 the housing is in fact a support plate for cups or glasses (1) made of a preferably synthetic material. Said plate (1) is driven in a horizontal plane by a vertical axis (4) of which it is integral and which rotates freely between a high bearing (5) and a low bearing (6) respectively positioned inside the cylinder by a upper disc (8) of diameter identical to the inside diameter of the cylinder and resting on depth stops (9) integral with the cylinder (3) depth stops (11) integral with the cylinder (3).

Furthermore, the axis (4) is rotated by a nylon type gear (7) itself driven by a driving disc (12) integral with an axis (17) free in its bearing positioned in the center of the disc lower (10), a shim washer (13), for example nylon, reducing friction between the drive disc (14) and the disc (10) fixed.

There is further provided a ratio between the diameters of the drive gear (12) and the axle gear (7) sufficient for a short movement of the driver to allow rotation of the plate (1) of around 900.

The movement of the driver is ensured by a control rod (15) mounted by force and whose translational movement is ensured by a control pusher (16) outside the cylinder (3) by escaping the lower support disc (10) thanks to a light (14) practi-c therein.

Ultimately, by a short action on the control pusher, a rotation is printed on the plate (1) of about 900 allowing it to be completely inside the cylinder (3) for an extreme position of the control (i6), completely outside the cylinder (3) for the opposite position of said control (16).

Naturally, a window (2b) is provided in the cylinder for the passage of the plate (1) and the dimensions of said window directly condition the shape, approximately in half-crown, of the plate (1). Furthermore, a door (2a) with the dimensions and shape of the window is fixed on the edge of the pivoting plate (1) so that in the closed position (plate completely inside the cylinder (3)), said cylinder (3) does not have any continuity solution, this contributing to the desired aesthetics. In addition, it will be readily understood that the offset of the axis (4) relative to the plate (1) to which it is integral results from '' a well-known elementary calculation ensuring the greatest clearance to the plate (1) for the control (16) in the extreme position and perfect closure thanks to the door juxtaposition (2a) on the window (2b) of the cylinder (3) in opposite position of said control (16).

Finally, to complete this description of the example proposed, an embodiment and assembly of the assembly is indicated which, without being limiting, is preferred by the inventor: all the components can be molded simply and there is no principle need no machining. Claims (4)

1. Device which can be used more particularly as a display case for tea or coffee cups, aperitif glasses, etc., combined with a service tray, characterized in that it comprises a carrier cylinder (3) oriented vertically in which by a single external control (16) and connecting members (4 to 15), a set of four support plates (1) - at least can move in a rotation in a horizontal plane between a rest or transport position fully enclosed in the cylinder (3) and a presentation position bringing said plates (1) inside the cylinder (3) by opening windows (2a) in the vertical wall of the cylinder (3), said cylinder being provided in its upper part of a closure (20) in the form of a tray, spoon, sugar bowl, etc., incidentally capped with a cover (19). 2.
