Abstract

The invention relates to sleeping arrangements for persons in a space regarded as too small for this use. Its criteria are maximum comfort for minimum bulk. Pivoting on its shafts 6 and 8 at the end of its extension pieces 7, the bed rises above the windscreen of the vehicle and, by means of its articulations 17 and 18, matches the shape of the rise of the roof, thus folding into a minimum of space. Detached from its supports 13, it opens at its articulation 17 and rocks via its shafts 6 and 8 on its extension pieces 7. The most advantageous application of the invention is its use in campers, caravans or other dwellings which may or may not be mobile.

Description

 The present invention relates to the sleeping of people in a volume considered to be too small for this use, a case which occurs in particular in mobile homes and motorhomes.

The problem posed at present by sleeping people in a reduced volume, taking the example of motorhomes, is that one must use this volume for two functions. one to be able to move there (by day),
. the other to sleep there (at night).

The solutions proposed to date are
. or the transformation of the furniture used into "day": table and cushions
benches arranged to form a mattress, long operation, little
practical, spartan comfort, cushions puzzle on hard and flat surface.

In addition, this system prohibits any circulation in the volume used
in days".

. either a bed independent of the "day" furniture, but in all cases, this
principle poses drawbacks of insufficient volume above the
bedding: bed to be reconstituted by extension systems3 or bed
intruding into the volume "day", or requiring a particular enhancement
roof, or other non-exhaustive combinations.

 In all these cases, it is not a question of bedding meeting true comfort criteria.

The solution provided by the invention is that it is a wooden slatted base equipped with traditional bedding studied for the latter, all folded into an unused volume in "day", not encroaching on this, being installed and retracted immediately without handling bedding and offering a comfortable volume in the night position
The accompanying drawings show a section of the invention in three figures 4, Z and 3, as well as a perspective 4 of the bed in the "night" position.

 This bed uses a wooden slatted base, with a metal frame articulated in three parts 1- 2 - 3, on which rests, whether folded or open, the complete bedding 4. Folded, it follows the shape of the height of the roof 5, reducing its height by twice the mattress-mattress thickness in the driver's cabin, thus freeing up the living area of the van. Unfolded, it offers in the case of the example a standard area of 140 by 190 cm on an 8 cm foam mattress with sheets and blankets, while providing in "in the case of this van a similar space and often greater than nasturtiums cell-type motorhomes (75 to 80 cm in height available).

 Adapted for an original enhanced van used in a motorhome, the bed, fixed to an axis 6, is fixed to the end of two extensions 7 and 7 ', themselves articulated on their other ends by two axes 8 and 8 ', fixed on either side of the windshield 9. Two jacks 10 and 10' placed on the uprights of the windshield 9 and on these extensions 7 and 7 ', compensate for the weight of the assembly for the operation of rotation.

 At the rear of the driver and passenger seats 11 and 11 'are placed two jacks 12 and 12', secured by a bar 16, which raise the bed, while it folds back on its first part 1, thus making it marry the shape of the roof extension 5. At the end of the race, a mechanical coupling 13 secures it in its high position (FIG. 4).

 Thus folded, it completely frees the driver's cabin, and does not encroach on the "day" part.

 When the cylinders 12 and 12 ′ are lowered, and the mechanical catches 13 are unlocked, the bed 1 - 2 - 3 descends to its support bar 14, which will have been previously put in place, simultaneously closing the articulation 18. From this first operation results the possibility of opening the rear articulation 17 to lower the part 3 and, once the latter in place, to tilt the front part 1 on its axes 6 and 8. As soon as the rear support legs 15 are snapped in, the bed is ready.

 In the field of motorhomes, this bed has the advantages of an nasturtium in a van.

 I1 allows to completely change the arrangements, because the entire volume can be used without having to plan the transformation for the night.

 I1 can be installed in a vehicle already fitted out by anyone who wishes to increase the night places.

 It can be adapted to most of the original heightened vans.

 1. Fully retractable hanging bed, mounted on axes 6 and 8 and extensions 7, and assisted by jacks 10 and 12.  2. Bed according to claim I characterized in that its articulations 17 and 18 and its axes 6 and 8 fixed to the extensions 7 allow the use of a minimum of space in the folded position for a maximum of living space in the unfolded position.  3.
