Abstract

The invention relates to spectacles of a type whose frame 3 comprises horizontally only half-lenses 1 for the correction of the distance vision; these lenses being held in place by a fine metal rim or a wire 2 or solely by adhesive bonding or keying onto the frame.

Description

 The present invention relates to a new type of glasses intended to replace, in certain cases, the glasses currently used.

 Very often, with age, a myopic person realizes that his "punctun proximum" becomes normal again; in other words, his visS closely would no longer need to be corrected. However, she still needs glasses for distant vision. (preshytia).

 We know that the ciliary muscles vary the crystalline convergence allowing accommodation, but its amplitude decreases with age, so that presbyopia caused by the loss of the power of comodation usually appears around forty years of age. In the myopic the eye is too convergent and, therefore, the images are formed in front of the retina With the years this convergence decreases and often disappears completely.

 In the devices currently adopted by these "old" short-sighted people, the glasses have double focal points, the lower part of which is a simple glass.

 In the present invention, the glasses intended for the persons mentioned above are characterized by the absence of glass with 1 lower part; the upper part (1) of the frame does not comprise; both horizontally and half-glasses for the correction of distant vision. These half-glasses (possibly tinted) are, co for a traditional frame, held in place by keying-o bonding (3); however, to improve overall security and rigidity, it is possible to surround them at the bottom with a simple very thin metallic border (2) Or a nylon thread (or similar).

 The advantage, compared to the current device, is a significant reduction in the weight of the telescope (removal of lenses and part of the frame); this one, therefore, is always perfectly paved.

 Finally, their price will be lower than that of double-focus glasses, or glasses with variable focus ("variluxn).

 By way of non-limiting example, we will describe below a prototype that has been produced.

 As illustrated in Figure 1, the lower half of the frame has been removed and replaced by a thin metal border.

 In Figure 2 the distant vision is materialized by the horizontal arrow (a) which uses the glass while the arrow (b) for near vision avoids the latter.

 It is also possible to execute in the same way monobloc glasses (in plexiglass or similar).

RIMEENDICATIONS 1 - New glasses intended for myopic people whose punctun proximum "moved away at a certain age; they thus do not need any more correction to see near but their distant vision always requires a correction.  These glasses are characterized by the fact that the lower part of the glasses is removed so that near vision is obtained directly when the eyes are lowered. 2 - Glasses according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper and lateral parts of each lens are enclosed in the frames 3 - Glasses characterized in that the lower part of the glasses is free or held by a wire or a metal strip (Or other).
