Abstract

The wood may be of hornbeam, ash, beech, maple, chestnut, acacia, birch, hazel or plane, etc. The wood may be crushed or used as chips of various sizes. Seasoning may be by 4-5 months exposure outdoors for wetting, followed by about 1 year under cover. To preserve the taste, the wood must not be stoved. The present invention relates to a new fuel, more particularly intended for between used for barbecues.

 In recent years, we have started to look for living conditions that are closer and closer to nature and, at the same time, "outdoor grilling parties" have become fashionable. As a result, everyone has dreamed of having a barbecue allowing them to cook their meat over the coals, either in their garden or on a campsite. or even during picnics in the countryside.

 Industrialists of course immediately took hold of this emerging fashion and offered the public all kinds of more or less sophisticated barbecues, ranging from a simple box with a grill to very complicated devices with electric rotisserie ...

 All these barbecues, from the simplest to the most complicated, have in common the use of charcoal as fuel, which is not without presenting a certain number of drawbacks due to its not very easy handling (blackening hands and clothes, friendliness, ...) and its difficulty in inflammation, especially in wet weather, a difficulty which unfortunately was the cause of very many accidents, sometimes very serious, due to watering barbecues with flammable liquids such as alcohol, petrol, ether ...

 The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by proposing a new fuel, more especially intended for barbecues, outdoor ovens ... which is more str and of easier use than conventional charcoal while having the advantages, such as a low cost price or a practically flameless combustion with formation of embers.

 This fuel is characterized in that it consists of dry, divided and dried wood.

 It is, according to the invention, a completely natural product and therefore without risk to the health of consumers and which simultaneously gives maximum satisfaction with regard to the goflt given to grilling.

 The drying time under shelter, which is of the order of several months, is in fact a function of the species of wood used which may be of any title.

 However, maximum satisfaction was obtained by providing drying times of the order of four to five months, outside for the wood to wet, and then under shelter for about a year.

 Among the essences that can be used, we can cite hornbeam, ash, beech, oak, maple, chestnut, acacia, apple, yard wood, birch, hazel, plane tree, etc.

 The final choice will depend on the one hand on the stocks available and on the other hand of the desired taste which differs according to the species.

 The fuel according to the invention gives all the desirable guarantee from the point of view of user safety, since it burns much more easily than commonly used charcoal and can be ignited in a very simple manner with simple paper, without requiring blowing or spraying operations with flammable and therefore dangerous products.

 It is therefore particularly advantageous to use paraffin paper, or even resin, therefore completely natural products.

 Another advantage of this fuel is linked to its rapidity of combustion, which saves an appreciable time in terms of cooking food.

 It is indeed possible to carry out the cooking two to three minutes after the ignition, the meats, the fish, the vegetables and even the eggs thus treated do not darken but brown in the heat.

 The divided wood used can be either simply ground, or cut into chips of any thickness and length, again the final choice depends on the desired result.

 To maintain a natural taste, it is imperative not to put the shavings in the oven.

 In all cases, it will be offered for sale packed in bags of around twenty to fifty liters.

 Consequently, the new fuel proposed in accordance with the invention is completely satisfactory with regard to the safety of the user, both with regard to his health and the risk of burns, moreover, this fuel is of a very easy handling which eliminates the risks of dirt inherent in commonly used charcoal.

 Another possible use of the fuel according to the invention consists in using it as a fire igniter for chimneys.
