Abstract

The weather strip for fitment in vehicle door openings consists of a thin aluminium strip on to which a rubber or P.V.C. coating is vulcanised. The coating is provided with barbs on one side. After coating the strip is extruded into a 'U' shaped rail and a 'U' shaped strip (5) welded to the main strip. The 'U' shaped strip is connected to a tubular sealer strip (4), which has a different elasticity to the main strip. The whole weather strip is fitted over the vehicle door frame flange.
