Abstract

The wall profiles of plastic containers feature at least one vertical channel wide enough for partial entry of the thumb and/or fingers of a person holding the container, to improve their grip. Applicable to bottles or flasks made by e.g. extrusion blow moulding, pref. provided with two channels on different sides of the bottle, preferably but not necessarily 180 degrees apart. The surfaces of the channels may be concave or convex, smooth or textured (ribbed) and extend over only part of the height of the bottle.
