Abstract

The oven is a rectangular box, made of a caisson of thin soft steel housed in an outer glass fibre caisson with an insulation layer between the two caissons. The only heating is by solar energy with the rays passing through the double glazed hinged cover, which is inclined to increase solar ray reception, while the inside of the oven is painted black to increase the internal temp. Cooking time varies between 2-1/2 and 3 hours depending upon the food chosen for the oven.
