Abstract

The removal of wax from the ear is facilitated by a short rod (1) with a small wad of cotton wool (9) attached to one end, forming a cotton wool bud. The wad of cotton wool has an oval longitudinal section and two helical grooves (10) extend from one end to the other. The shape of the grooves is such that the wad has a cruciform cross-section. A circular flange may be fitted to the rod (1), to limit the depth of penetration of the wad into the ear. The device is patic. useful for removing wax from children's ears. The grooves are intended to collect the ear wax.
