Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the technical sector of bodybuilding means for sports or corrective purposes.
To our knowledge there is currently in the field of the invention only a tilting board intended to exercise balance by standing there.
The apparatus according to the invention consists of a sole serving as plantar support resting on a patella. It can be simple or double depending on whether the user wishes to exercise one or both feet. It is used in a seated position, the Legs being vertical (see plate 1 fig. 2 and 3)
The length of the sole is deliberately limited to avoid compensating movements of the tarsus.
Figure 1 shows a construction solution using a ball joint. Here the device for the right foot is seen on the heel side. There is a bridle 1 of the foot on the sole 2. Attachment by lace is not restrictive, any other solution can be envisaged; self-gripping tape with hooks for example. The sole 2 rests on the sphere 3 embedded in the base 4 which prevents inadvertent slipping. For the same reason the plate 5 ensures the spacing between the two bases, it may have a non-slip surface in contact with the ground. The spacing of the two bases on the plate 5 can be adjustable.
Figs. 4,5,6,7 illustrate the anatomical angulations 10,11,12,13 necessary for the movements of the various joints of the foot. Cleats 6 fixed on the sphere make it possible to materialize these angulations and serve as benchmarks for the exercise.
The fixing of the sphere under the sole can be carried out by observing an off-center (5 fim.l) of the axis of the sphere relative to the axis of the sole. This decentering is calculated to allow different movements in their extracted amplitude without the possibility of joint or ligament damage.
The center of oscillation of the sole can be stretched under the talcn of the laugh to an ounce comnarable to that of the sole of a ski.
Variants can be chosen to polish the construction of the device without changing the nature of the invention. Thus, according to fig.8,9,10,11, plate 2 the sphere 3 of fig. 1 pl. L can be materialized by two pieces of sheet metal or plastic, which are set in a cross and are fixed under the sole by the holes 9.
Each of these parts includes two bosses: which limit the angulations 10,11,12,13 by abutting against the base 4 like the pins 6 of fig.l. On fig.lO and 11 we see that turning the piece fig.9 of 1800 from its position in fig. 10 makes it possible to obtain right ball joints and left ball joints. Likewise, by a judicious arrangement of the holes 9 and the fixing points under the sole, it is possible, with the aid of six predetermined points, to provide the off-center 5 provided for in fig. 1 making use of a single sole which will become right or left. only after the firation of the patella parts.
Without exhausting all possible solutions, we can replace the sphere 3 and its base 4 by a Cardan joint, or even metal or rubber ball joints
Lesflg.l2 and 13 illustrate solutions where the oscillation is provided by a pivot point located at the top of a pyramid or a rod applying under a bell integral with the sole. Fig.12 shows a bell of symmetrical shape placed on an asymmetrical quadrangular pyramid, each side of which has a slope whose angle limits one of the deflections 10; ll; 12; 13. Fig.13 includes a rod which engages in an asymmetrical bell whose angulation of the words controls the same deflections. Of course it is possible to reverse the position of the parts described above in figs. 13 and 13 so that the rod or pyramid is integral with the sole.
Fig.l4 represents a clearly different solution because the sole is moved by two double-acting cylinders. Your cylinder 20 controls the angles 12 and 13 while the cylinder 21 controls the angles 10 and 11. Using a correct fluid distribution usual on these cylinders we will obtain stresses both controlled in power and amplitude of the muscles, joints and ligaments of the ankle.
