Abstract

An ice-skate rack moulded from a light-weight, rigid synthetic material, e.g. glass fibre reinforced polyester, has supports sepd. by grooves. The sides of the skates rest on the supports with each blade accommodated in a groove such that it does not touch the sides or bottom. The skates are positioned vertically, and do not touch each other. Because air can circulate around each boot and blade, deterioration of the leather and steel is minimised. Water drains from the grooves and supports into a gutter. The rack may be incorporated in a clothes rack with space for hanging garments, stowing bags, etc.

Description

 New rack for ice skates.

 In the ice rinks, the ice skates are either suspended from the hooks, or placed against each other in racks. In both cases, the pads remain in contact with each other which delays drying, promotes oxidation of the metal parts and damages the pad.

 These problems have been known for many years, but no attempt has yet been made to remedy them.

 The present invention consists of a rack whose special shape allows the pads to be stored vertically, without contact with each other, while promoting the flow of water.

 In the rack according to the invention, the pads rest on the lower part of their sole.

 Other characteristics and advantages will be better understood on reading the description which follows, and with reference to the appended drawing in which - FIG. 1 represents a rack according to the invention, - FIG. 2 represents the same rack in section transverse, - Figure 3 shows in perspective a locker room according to the invention.

The appended figures show that placing the pad on its sole, and correctly dimensioning the support pads 9 and the grooves 10 makes it possible
- keep the skate vertical,
- without contact with the adjacent pads,
- without contact of the blade with the rack, all promoting ventilation and drying, and keeping the skate in perfect condition, without oxidation or deformation of the leather.

In practice, this type of rack can give rise to several variants and can be integrated into several combinations.

 Thus, we can for example make a complete locker room for ice rink as shown in Figure 3 attached, which is self-explanatory: clothes, shoes, bags, etc. of the customer take place in the vertical "column" which includes the rack element where the pair of skates was entrusted to him.

 One can also design units composed only of superimposed rows of racks according to the invention, for very compact storage.

Those skilled in the art will see the other advantages of the invention
- possibility of better rotation of the material,
- reduced handling of skates and customer effects,
- concentrated water flow at certain points, where
can collect this water.

 The material constituting the rack is preferably a light and sufficiently rigid synthetic material (polyester loaded with glass fibers, etc.), which the skilled person will be able to choose according to the qualities required and the manufacturing process (molding).

 We can use variously colored, nestable modules, simple size markers, token or bracelet systems, etc.

 The frame 13 can be in lacquered steel treated with anticorrosion.

 The assembly can then be washed with a jet.

Claims (4)

1. Rack for ice skates, characterized in that it consists of pads-supports of substantially horizontal soles separated by vertical grooves, pads-supports and grooves being dimensioned so that when the pad is placed with its blade in a groove, said blade does not touch the edges or the bottom of said groove, said shoe rests on the edges of the two support pads adjacent to said groove by the bottom of its sole, is substantially vertical, and is not in contact with the pads arranged identically in the adjacent locations. 2. Rack according to claim 1, characterized in that each groove opens into a water recovery channel, perpendicular to said grooves, and which also recovers water from the shoe support pads. 3. Rack according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that it consists of polyester loaded with glass fibers. 4. Complete ice rink locker for clothing, bags, shoes, etc., and simultaneously storage of free ice skates, characterized in that it comprises at least one rack according to any one of claims 1 to 3, combined with using vertical lateral elements forming a frame for elements intended to receive clothes, bags, ...
