Abstract

The device may either consist of a manually controlled sliding card arrangement or an electronic calculator. The card arrangement includes a sleeve with windows cut in it and a second card sliding within this. Information about a particular horse and its times over previous courses may be selected according to the card position. The alternative electronic calculator has a keypad for entering information about past races over various distances. Other factors such as the nature of the terrain may be taken into account in order to apply a certain handicap in weighting the calculations.
