Abstract

The power-assisted steering device comprises a two-part steering column (13A,13B) , and a hydraulic assistance mechanism responsive to relative angular displacement of the parts. The distributor comprises a stator (25) having a pressure orifice (26), a return orifice (27), and two service orifices (28,29) connected to the assisting jack. Two adjacent rotors (40,41) are located within the stator rotatable respectively with the two parts, the first rotor having distribution passages (48) communicating with the stator pressure and return orifices, and the second rotor having distribution passages (51,52) interacting with the first rotor distribution passages and communicating with the stator service orifices. The stator pressure and return orifices communicate respectively with two chambers (47,49), one of which (47) is peripheral and the other of which (49) is central .

Description
