Abstract

Method of reproducing a decorative pattern is suitable for matching a pattern for carpets, embroidery, mosaics etc. Firstly an image of the pattern is superimposed on a rectangular grid. This can be carried out by projecting the pattern and the grid onto a screen. The main colour is obtd. from the composite image including the black and white zones. This information is transferred onto the supporting material used for the design.
