Abstract

A twine-cutting assembly for a machine which cops up bales of hay, etc. for distribution. The machine is of the type which has a casing contg. a rotor having radial arms equipped for chopping materials e.g. like a hammer mill. Baling twince can impede the chopping action if it becomes wound around the rotor shaft. On both sides of the rotor and spaced from the axis of rotation are fixed one or more axially-projecting shear blades. As these rotate they provide a cyclic shearing action with corresp. blades fixed to the inside of the casing.
