Abstract

The top for an aerosol container comprises a cylindrical part, which may be very slightly tapered, surrounding the button on the top of the can. The cylinder is open-topped, and has a cut-away on one side to allow the aerosol spray nozzle to project outwards. There is a slight cutaway on the opposite side to receive the operator's finger on the button. The lower part of the top is of wider dia. so as to fit over the top rim of an aerosol container. The top projects the aerosol button, preventing accidental use, but at the same time guiding the user's finger into the correct position for use. It is particularly intended for a tear gas cannister used in self defence.
