Abstract

Shoe sole inserts for eliminating foot odours are comprised of loofah fibres, active carbon and a binder such as a butadiene-acrylonitrile latex binder. The compsn. may also contain jute fibres. The prods. are made e.g. by mixing the loofah fibres, jute fibres, active carbon and butadiene acrylonitrile latex binder with water in a beater mixer to form a paste, casting the paste onto a conveyor which conveys it onto a heated drum, and calendering the dried prod.. The prods. are soft, have rapid absorption and desorption of water vapour, are rot-proof and have excellent odour eliminating properties.

La fabrication d'un tel produit composite peut etre réalisée par mise en oeuvre d'un procédé selon lequel les fibres de loofah , les fibres de jute, le charbon actif à l'état pulvérulent et le latex du type butadièneacrylonitrile sont mis en suspension dans de l'eau, a raison par exemple de 1 kg de mélange des quatre composants précités pour 1000 litres d'eau.
