Abstract

The tandem bicycle is ridden in the prone position, having an elongated frame (1) with ventral supports (9) one above the other. Two sets of pedals (2,3) are mounted at the rear, in line with these supports, and are coupled to a driving plate (4) for the rear wheel (7), while stabiliser wheels are mounted on either side of the latter. The frame can incorporate two beams (13) one above the other, on which the ventral supports are mounted, with handles at the end of the lower one for the rider on it, and handlebars for the one on top. The sets of pedals can be one above the other on a vertical axis.
