Abstract

The bookmark which can be used to indicate a line of print on a page consists of a strip (2) carrying a slider (4). The strip can be secured so that it remains in contact with a selected page when the book is opened. The slider carries an arrow which, when the bookmark is arranged to face the required direction, points towards the selected page, either the left or the right hand page. The slider itself may be shaped with a point, and the height of the slider on the strip indicates the line of printing. The strip may be solid material, or a thin strip attached to the binding of the book. The whole may be made in one piece which is afterwards divided into separate elements.
