Abstract

The pen has a metallic body and a metallic ink cartridge which is insulated from it by an insulating ring and a sleeve at the tip. A coaxial connector is engaged in the pen body opposite the tip and is connected via coaxial cable to processing circuits associated with the graphic panel. A piezo electric element is in contact with the central conductor in the connector. The element also contacts the cartridge via a pressure washer. This enables a validation signal to be generated when a given writing pressure is attained. A loaded spring is used to urge the cartridge and tip towards the graphic panel.
