Abstract

The insertion mechanism is adjustable in order to lift one or more layers of material at a time off a stack. It has hollow needles (3,4) through which air is blown between the layers, the needles being mounted in pairs and intersecting at the insertion points. They can be fixed in a top block (1) coupled by an adjusting screw (7) to a bottom one (2) containing curved grooves (9',10') forming needle guides.

SIMILAR 10 Addition to the patent application dated 10/26/79, registered under number 79 26955.

The invention, the subject of the patent application registered under No. 79 26955, relates to a device which makes it possible to take from a stack of fabrics or similar materials, a single piece, or a number determined in advance, for the purpose in particular to automate handling operations.

The present addition consists of improvements, modifications, details made to the invention, and more particularly in the use of hollow needles, the relative positioning of the needles, and in the use of a series of devices for complete automation of the sequence of operations required for example for assembly in industrial clothing.

The accompanying drawings, given by way of nonlimiting example, are embodiments of the invention.

Figure 4 is a schematic plan view of an example of use of a set of devices for automating assembly of two pieces of tissue.

In the text of the invention is explained the general operation of the device.

The needles are fixed in the casing 1, and slide in the casing 2. When these casings are brought together, according to FIG. 3, the tips of the needles come out and penetrate into the fabric in order to hang and entrain it when the we lift the device.

In the drawings of this addition we have shown a very simplified ap-device, with manual operation, but as indicated in the patent, all the functions, and in particular the rap -prechement or the spacing of the casings 1 and 2 can be Obtained by, pneumatics, hydraulics, electricity, etc.

One of the objects of this addition is the replacement of simple needles with hollow needles 3. Thus, after having engaged the needles in the fabric or similar material 11, and at the time of separating it from the other layers, 4, by elevation according to arrow 6, it is possible to inject compressed air by the nozzle 5 , which emerges in 7 and facilitates the separation of the parts. Indeed it is frequent 4ue adhesions are manifested between the-various layers, due to the fluffy surfaces, static electricity, beginning of fusion at cutting, or other reasons.

Another precision of this addition is the position of the crossing point 8 of the needles 3 which engage obliquely in the fabric. This crossover point is very close to the fabric to be removed, so the attachment is perfect, even if the material is elastic, soft, because according to Figure 3, the ratio of elongation -ment 10 to 9 that should be subjected to the tissue to unhook it is maximum.

This addition highlights the possibility of automating industrialized tailoring operations, thanks to this invention which makes it possible to mechanize the handling of fabrics or similar materials.

 Or in Figure 4 a common example of two pieces cut according to shapes 20 and 21 and which must be assembled.

It is possible to provide stitching chains 22, 24, 26, etc. and 23, 25, 27, etc., which are present at the edge of the cutouts, and take care of the fabrics 20 and 21, all of them automatic.

These appliance chains follow a conventional guide and present the fabrics 20 and 21 in the assembly machine 36 according to FIG. 5.

FIG. 6 is a plan view which shows the straightening of the curves when passing through the assembly machine.

Shapes, dimensions; and provisions of the various elements may vary within the limit of equivalents, as moreover the materials used for their manufacture without changing for this, the general design of the invention which has just been described.

Claims (1)

 10- Device for selecting fabrics or similar materials for picking up one or more pieces from a stack according to claim 1 of the main patent, characterized by the fact that the needles are hollow and flexible, thus allowing air to be blown in in the space between the layers to be separated.  20- Device according to claim 1, carrac-terizing by the PQitt crossing needles near -imity of the plane of the tissue, thus allowing a grip -tuelle.  30- Device according to any one of claims  1 or 2, characterized by the fact that it can be constituted by a chain of picking stitches mounted on means making it possible to arrange them according to the curvatures of the cut-outs of the fabrics, and to allow these curves to be trained at the time of passage through the assembly machine.
