Abstract

Electrical conductor is made of C fibres enclosed in a resin matrix. Suitable for use in high humidity atmospheres, e.g. heated troughs for cultivated snails. Pref. the matrix is of 'Rislan' (RTM - alpha/omega polyamide) and encloses 20-50% wt. of carbon fibres. Alternatively the core conductor may be of a stainless metal alloy, opt. with an integral sheath. Typically the total conductor may have a flat rectangular section of e.g. 5 x 1 mm and is mounted directly onto the surface of the trough: conductors may be used in pairs energised by alternating current at 3-12 volts.
