Abstract
1410107 Electroconductive plastics laminates MITSUBISHI SEISHI KK 20 Sept 1973 [6 Oct 1972] 44203/73 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions D2 and H5] Laminates include an electroconductive polyolefin sheet material which is made by preparing a slurry of polyolefin fibres and carbon fibres, forming a sheet from the slurry by papermaking techniques, and subjecting the formed sheet to a temperature above the melting point of the polyolefin fibres, or where a mixture of polyolefins is used to a temperature above the melting point of the polyolefin with the highest melting point. The polyolefin may be polyethylene or polypropylene. The polyolefin fibres may include an incompatible thermoplastic resin. Natural fibres, e.g. woodpulp and synthetic fibres, e.g. polyvinylalcohol, nylon may be incorporated in the slurry. Heating of the formed sheet may be carried out whilst subjecting it to pressure. Two or more sheets may be laminated together by heat and pressure. In addition, insulating theremoplastic films, e.g. polyolefin film may be laminated to the outer surfaces of the electroconductive sheets during the manufacture of a resistance heater (see Division H5).
