Abstract

The device has a laminated closed magnetic circuit (1) containing a permanent magnet (2), with north and south-seeking poles adjacent to its larger faces (2a,2b), embedded in one branch (3). A prim. winding (4) and a sec. winding (5) surround a narrower branch (6) comprising part of the laminations which make up a half-branch (3a). The magnetic junction (7) at one end of that branch (6) forms an acute angle (alpha) with the plane of the permanent- magnet pole faces (2a,2b) adjacent to the half-branches (3a,3b). The latter are of unequal length so that some of their laminations cover the ends of the wound branch (6) on either side of the prim. and sec. windings. The permanent magnet has max. surface area in a magnetic circuit of reduce bulk and weight. The dimensions of the magnet do not depend on those of the wound branch. The angled magnetic junction at one end of the wound branch takes up the mfg. tolerances.
