Abstract

The hanging space for clothing is for the backs of chairs in public halls, or in vehicles, and is provided in a recess in the back of the seat. Access to the clothing recess is provided by swinging forwards the upholstered part of the back-rest with its rigid support, or by pulling a hinged cover upwards. The recess is covered by a flexible canvas cover which is quickly closed by press studs, sliding clasp fastener and such like.

Description

The present invention relates to the arrangement of vehicles comprising seats, and rooms intended to receive a seated public.

 In the current state of things, no effective device exists for storing clothes in a place where each person has only little space. In cars, a jacket hung on the handle over a side window dangerously compromises visibility as well as the stacking of clothes on the rear shelf. Placed on the knees or the files, the jackets get in the way, get dirty, get wrinkled; disabilities that are also encountered in the bus, cinema, theater and conference rooms. On the plane, the riverboat, the locker room is often far from his personal seat. He therefore has to move for any object forgotten in a pocket. In the train, one to two hooks must receive up to six or eight jackets; a process which proves incapable of preserving the impeccable condition of a garment just like the use of baggage nets as a cloakroom.

The device according to the invention eliminates all these drawbacks.

Indeed the clothes, in this case are completely insulated in a kind of sheath. They therefore do not risk to interfere, nor, perfectly suspended from being crumpled. The overall dimensions remain substantially equal to that of the armchair itself, the cloakroom being produced in previously unused volumes.

The device, object of the invention, is constituted by a space in the form of a sheath, intended to receive the clothes. Space made in the thickness of the backrest and behind the upholstery of it> and possibly extending under the seat of an armchair. According to the uses, the access to this cloakroom will be done in different ways - by the front tilted the upholstery of the backrest.

- by a downward opening almost at the bottom of the backrest, covered

with hooks, can replace the canvas.

The accompanying drawings illustrate, by way of examples the various embodiments of the device according to the present invention.

As shown on the board No. 1, the device comprises under the padding 1 of the seat and behind the padding 2 of the files a sheath in 3 sufficiently wide and thick to receive the clothes there. In addition, there are two modes of access to this cloakroom: namely to pull the upholstery 2 in the direction of the arrow 6, or to open the cover 4 in the direction of the arrow 5. Another method consists in pulling towards the top or pivot on its hinge the cover shown in 7. The set can> as needed be articulated in 8 to allow the backrest to tilt. The hanger at 9 will be fixed if the access allows the clothes to be deposited there easily; or removable with repositioning by wedging or locking. Plate 2 shows in FIG. 1, a mode of access to the cloakroom by a permanent opening. The edges of this opening have a rounded profile facilitating the introduction of clothing. This figure also presents an interesting way of extending the sheath under the seat. This method makes it possible to raise the seat in cinema saloons for example. Figure 2 shows the closure of the sheath forming cloakroom with a canvas. This fabric can be closed in the middle on these edges, diagonally or otherwise by zippers of the pressures of the "velorops" ect ... For the purpose of weight gain, in aviation in particular Figure 3 shows simple elastic straps hooking onto the rigid edges of the sheath. The drawing in Figure 4 and the section in Figure 5 show a double cloakroom in the same chair. One is accessible from the front, the other from the rear. This scenario adapts to the first row of seats in cinemas or theaters, the front cloakroom being reserved for the owner of the armchairs, the rear cloakroom being for the person coming to sit immediately behind. Figure 6, finally, shows schematically the positioning offset by half of the locker rooms with respect to the supporting armchairs, in the case of a room where the seats are arranged in staggered rows allowing everyone to have their locker room just in front of him.

 The device, object of the invention can be used in all cases where it is necessary to save space, and where the clothes which are discarded turn out to be bulky, are likely to be wrinkled or soiled. The most interesting applications are the automobile, bus> train, airplane, cinemas, theaters and conference rooms.

Claims (10)

 1. Device for storing clothes in places where it is interesting to save space, such as the automobile or cinemas for example, by placing them in armchairs which are placed there; characterized in that a recess specially provided for this purpose is arranged in the thickness of the backrest, which may possibly extend under the seat of said chair.  2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the access to this cloakroom is done by tilting forward the padding of the backrest with its rigid support. 3. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the access to this locker room is done by tilting back a rigid cover, or by pulling up a sort of hinged cover or hinged or completely removable.  4. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the access to this cloakroom is through a permanent opening, located at the top at the quarry of the file; whose edges have a rounded profile, allowing clothing to be easily entered and removed.  5. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the access to this cloakroom is through a wide opening at the rear, which a flexible canvas comes to close by means of a quick positioning system, such as zippers pressures, velcros etc ... Elastic straps stretched from one edge to the other of this opening give the same result for a lower weight.  6. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that access to this cloakroom is the combination of several methods set out in claims 2 3 4 and 5. (For example, for the seats in the first row of a cinema, each chair can have two accessible changing rooms according to claims 2 and 3. Or, the method of the 4th claim can be supplemented by the 5th.). 7. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that this sheath forming cloakroom comprises an articulation between the seat and the back allowing to tilt the latter back and forth.  8. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that that this cloakroom sheath partly comprises the bottom its an opening allowing to recover the clothes which had fallen there.  9. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that, on the same row of armchairs, the sheaths forming the locker room are staggered relative to the supporting files.  10. Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the hanger for receiving clothing is fixed if access allows; or removable, with a locking or jamming immobilization system preventing it from rocking or vibrating, if this hanger belongs to the wheelchair of a vehicle.
