Abstract

The locking device for one or more panels, switchable for adjustable furniture, has a vertical cylinder (1) against which a horizontal plate can be locked, radiating outwards from the axis of the cylinder. A screw (9) passing through a hole (8) through the cylinder, so as to extend horizontally from it, supports the plate, and locks in position. The plate has a groove (12) underneath with one side sloping upwards and inwards. A locking cylinder (11) with an internally threaded hole can be rotated so as to travel along the screw. This cylinder has a sloping sided groove which locks inside the groove under the plate. The end of the plate in contact with the cylinder is concave to match the outside of the cylinder. Several locking elements can be joined to form a chain, with the plates locked at different angles.
