Abstract

The explosive gas detector comprises a fire proof box containing a sensor, electronic circuit and controlled supply. The control of the supply allows a reduction of current in the power supply cable. The multicore insulated cable for supply and outputs is protected by a grip containing a lead cone and is connected to a terminal block. The sensor is provided with a protective cone and disc. The box has mounting holes and a cover. A seal is attached to the sensor housing to prevent its removal from the electronic circuit. The sensor uses catalytic oxidation of gas at low temperature in order to detect the presence of an explosive mixture, and may be used in isolated locatons where a small power supply and remote signalling are essential.
