Abstract

The appliance comprises a small natural sponge of approx. circular shape. This is impregnated with a suitable spermicide or, if preferred, sterile water and is then placed into a net. The net is made from fine natural silk thread and is in the form of a bag which has a fine mesh. The bag is provided with a fine silk draw string, this being pulled tight over the sponge. After use, the sponge can be removed and washed for re-use; it can be stored in a container of metal mesh.

Description

The present invention relates to a new female contraceptive method. It is a small natural sponge of spherical shape incorporated into a small natural silk net with sliding border.

 The technique of the invention consists in placing a sponge moistened with boiled water (or with a spermicidal product which provides better protection) inside a small net (figure i) tightened by the slide i and introduce all in the vaginal cavity before intercourse. The sliding wire is rejected at the arribre. It must be discreet, causing no discomfort.

It will allow easy and rapid extraction of the object of the invention.

 The characteristic of the invention is aimed at the absorption of the seminal liquid by the humidified spongy material which thus forms a barrier to fertilization #. The aim of the object of the invention is therefore to provide contraception that is as broad as possible.

 The object of the invention thus realized represents for the users a new method of mechanical contraception, satisfactory in its use, causing no side effect.

The natural sponge, according to the invention, (Figure 2) is characterized by its pores. However the concept of "sponge" used includes natural sponges and rubber or other synthetic material of various colors.

The sponge is advantageous by its property in retaining liquids and by its soft, porous and hygienic structure, which has high compressibility under the effect of an exerted pressure and a good ability to restore its shape and volume. . This sponge can be calibrated between 40 and 55 min.

 The net, according to the invention, (FIG. 3) schematically describes a net constituted by natural silk threads, the fineness of which would be No. 80, or other synthetic material of various coloration, representing meshes of variable spacing formed with several yarns or monofilaments, woven or knotted by machine or by hand using already known weaving techniques.

 The edge of the net presented by a smooth edge i is provided with a smooth edge sliding thread 2 made of natural silk, the size of which would be No. 40, or other synthetic material of various colors, tied at the end 3.

Natural silk thread is recommended because it is healthy, soft and resistant.

 To achieve the object of the invention, it is preferable to use natural materials.

It should be understood, however, that these drawings and the corresponding descriptive parts are given solely by way of illustration of the subject of the invention, of which they do not in any way constitute a limitation.

I integrate into the present invention a housing. It can have different forms.

 The first one (figure 4), looks like this. It will be made of metallic fabric of stainless steel or other synthetic material of various coloring, with a flat base 1, a pressure cover 2 and a hinge 3.

 The second (Figure 5), semi-oval, in metallic fabric of stainless steel or other synthetic material of various coloring, with a pressure cover i and a hinge 2, provided with a perforated handle 3 for hanging it.

It thus allows the object of the invention to dry protected from dust and its storage after use.

It should be understood, however, that the drawings and the descriptive parts corresponding to the case are susceptible of numerous variations, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

CLAIMS i. Small natural sponge, spherical in shape, incorporated into a small natural silk net, formed of several threads or monofilaments with variable spacing meshes, woven or knotted, provided with a sliding thread with a smooth edge, knotted at the end, characterized in the present invention by their association constituting a new mechanical contraceptive method which does not cause any side effect. 2. Small sponge according to claim i, characterized  - by its property in retaining liquids,  - by its spongy material moistened with boiled water (or with a spermicidal product) which absorbs seminal fluid thus forming a barrier to fertilization and which by its humidification facilitates its introduction into the vaginal cavity; 36. Small sponge according to claim 2, characterized by its porous, hygienic and soft structure which provides partners with pleasant contact. 4. Small sponge according to one of the claims i to 3, characterized in that it has a high compressibility under the effect of an exerted pressure and a good ability to restore its shape and its volume. 5. Small natural silk net according to claim i, characterized by a sliding thread which allows the rapid and easy extraction of the object of the invention according to any one of claims i to 4.  6. Small natural silk net according to claims i and 5, characterized by the solidity and softness of the material of the threads which constitute it. 7. Small sponge according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized by its spherical shape and its small size incorporated in a small net according to claims i, 5 and 6, also characterized by its small size, which allows their adaptation in the narrowness of the vaginal cavity.  8.
