Abstract

The fruit dryer consists of a framework (1) which carries a fan (2) with an output of 1.5 cu.m/sec. at 600 mm H2O. The fan is driven by the electric motor (3). The fan blows into the bin (4) which is closed at the base by a perforated plate (5) or grille. The plate is mounted on the table (6) and the table is attached to a belt conveyer in between end rollers. The washed fruit (7) passes under the air stream, and a drain hopper (8) is mounted under the table (6). The velocity of the air stream is controlled by partially closing the perforations in the plate or grille.
