Abstract

(2',3'; 4,5)pyrido(1,2-a)pyrazine derivs. of formula (I) are new (where R is 1-6C alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aralkyl (opt. substd. in the aryl ring by halo, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, trifluoromethyl or hydroxy) or heteroaryl-alkyl). Pref. aralkyl is phenyl-1-4C alkyl and heteroarylalkyl is thienyl-1-4C alkyl. Used as sedative which is administered orally, parenterally or rectally in unit doses of 25-500 mg to give daily doses of 25-1500 mg depending on the patient.
