Abstract

A fluid transfer device comprises multiple articulated pipe segments of the accordion type, an upper universal means of connection, a lower means of connection that can be dissociated, and a means of actuation by cable. The device allows transfer of fluids between a charging point, comprising two fluid pipes situated at one site, and a coupling mechanism situated at a second site. It is partic. useful in the transfer of liquefied neutral gas from an offshore platform to a tanker. The device comprises: two upper means of connection associated with a cardan joint and connected to the charging point; two lower means of connection also associated with a cardan joint and capable of being connected to the coupling mechanism of the second site; two upper pipe segments connected to the upper means of connection; two lower pipe segments connected to the lower means of connection; two intermediate pipe segments inserted between the two upper and the two lower pipe segments; an articulation connecting the intermediate pipe segments together; an elbow joint connecting each of the upper pipe segments to one of the intermediate pipe segments; and an elbow joint connecting each of the lower pipe segments to one of the intermediate pipe segments.
