Abstract

A package wound in figure-8 pattern and with a radial hole in the wind, the hole being engaged by the top end portion of a mast which can swivel about its lengthwise axis as the strand is pulled of in direction transverse to the package axis. Pref. the mast oscillates against the forces of two springs extending from it in opposite directions to anchorage points. Twistless unwinding without needing to rotate the package.
