Abstract

The adjustable back rest is mainly for a bed and has a storage locker (1) which constitutes the head of the bed (2). The back rest consists of a set of hinged (3) plates which can be folded into the locker, two of them (4,5) forming the cover of the locker. The edge of one plate (3) is cut at an angle so that when open it forms an angle with the adjacent plate. One plate (6) is hinged to a rack (13) and this engages on a notch (14) inside the locker to adjust the back rest.
